College Union

The students’ union of the College has always been an excellent platform for the students to develop their leadership and decision-making skills. The college union is intended to organize most of the co-curricular activities of the college, under the guidance of the Principal and the staff advisors concerned. The objectives of the college union are: to train students on the duties and responsibilities of citizenship, to promote opportunities for the development of character, leadership and spirit of service among students, and to promote opportunities for students to organize sports, arts and other cultural and recreational activities.

A body of students’ representatives is formed every year as per the guidelines issued by the Kerala University. The principal office bearers include: The Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary, Arts Club Secretary, Student Editor, University Union Councillors and Class Representatives. Elections for the College Union are conducted in Parliamentary mode, in the Simple Majority Election system. In the Parliamentary Mode of election, there are two stages of election. In Stage I, Class Representatives are to be elected from the students of each year of the Degree Courses. In Stage II, the Class Representatives so elected shall elect the office bearers to the above-mentioned positions.
